jowi: Thanks for providing your test results. Can you clarify what you mean by, "freezes on suspend or the backlight stays off on resume"? Do you mean that sometimes one happens, and sometimes the other, or that you just can't tell which is happening. The driver has quite a few changes besides just those for the backlight, so if it's really hanging on suspend it may or may not be related to the attempted fix for the backlight.
