@forest: As much as I would love to see that bug receive some attention at last, I don't think it is related to bug 124406. I might be wrong but this one seems to be pretty much narrowed to some KVM switches.
Only workaround so far for me was to recompile a kernel without USB HID support (if I remember right): in recent kernels, there seem to be no means to prevent those modules auto loading...
