Bug Description

There is a regression in resuming from suspend in linux 3.0.0-15.24 (vs. 3.0.0-14.23) on the Dell Studio XPS 16

When booted into -15, on resuming from suspend, the screen never turns back on. It appears based on behaviour of fans, etc., that the CPU probably isn't resuming processing either.

This could be a duplicate of bug 904569

I will be performing a bisect to figure out what change could have introduced this regression. I will be asking for some kernels to be tested in bug 904569. It would be great if you could also test some of these kernels.

I posted a test kernel for this bug. The test kernel has the commit reverted that may have caused this regression. Can you please test this kernel and report back if it resolves the issue? Please post your results as a comment in the duplicate of this bug, which is bug 904569 ?

The kernel is available at:
