Bug Description

The 3.2.0-3-generic kernel doesn't work with my webcam. This was working as recently as 3.1.0-2-generic.

Output in .xsession-errors shows:

libv4l2: error turning on stream: No space left on device
libv4l2: warning v4l2 mmap buffers still mapped on close()

And in dmesg:

[ 302.896999] uvcvideo: Failed to submit URB 0 (-28).

A web search suggests this is an issue other people are also hitting.

The camera is identified in lsusb as:

Note that this blocks me from using the precise kernel on my laptop for testing; I'll need to downgrade to a kernel with working webcam support.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue.

However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request.

We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not.

If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released.

If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add a tag named: bot-stop-nagging.

Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it.

This looks like a duplicate of bug 899165

Can you try the test kernel mentioned in comment #7 of that bug? If it fixes your issue, please mark this bug as a duplicate?

thanks, this does indeed look like a duplicate. I'll test -3.9 once it hits the archive.
