Well well well... Good spot Peter Hoeg.
I formatted my 8 gig 133x digital still camera compact flash to ext3. I tested with pushing a gig to it and then pulling the gig back.
Thus far, no errors.
As a result, the previous VFat32 might be the cause of the problem?
