Comment 3 for bug 879687

This might be a duplicate of bug 833705 which was fixed in the Natty 11.04 and Oneiric 11.10 releases. If you don't want to upgrade to these newer versions, you might try the workaround of passing 'reboot=pci' as a kernel parameter.
