I confirm that post #42 of this thread helps to solve the issue on the freshly installed Kubuntu 11.10 on Lenovo Thinkpad w510 with "Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 (rev 35)
" network adapter.
The issue with slow wireless is solved by this.
