So, can you try two different methods of position reporting?
Edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and add the following line:

options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1

Reboot your computer and see if it works better, and also try this version:

options snd-hda-intel position_fix=2

Reboot and retry.
