Bug Description

Using the HDMI port does not result in an external monitor displaying the desktop. Installing the nvidia driver also does not output to the monitor, instead the nvidia blob break glx and causes a 2d fallback to the classic gnome desktop.

Marking this task as Wont Fix as this machine is equipped with switchable graphics and HDMI out is not possible without Optimus support in the nvidia driver
