Bug Description

when power is disconnected on a eee PC 1015PX, the harddrive makes a clicking sound approx. every 10 seconds.
this is only the case while running ubuntu, not during boot and not when running other operation systems.

WORKAROUND:
sudo hdparm -B 254 /dev/sda

which presumably consumes more power.
the preset value is 128

tried using ubuntu-bug initially, but it required a package name.

above information was generated in battery mode, -B 128 and the clicking sound

my harddrive crashed and I got it replaced. the clicking sound is gone now, hdparm -B is still 128.
I'm not saying that because I think ubuntu killed my harddrive, but because the entire system, hardware and software, is the same except for a different harddrive model.

it is now a Seagate ST9320325AS (no clicking sound)
it was before a Western Digital WD3200BPVT (clicking sound)

I can hear that bad noise every... I think 20-30 seconds.

I attach the file requested by Fabio Marconi.
