Comment 36 for bug 792849

This is quite surprising to me, but I switched to Chromium from Chrome and I haven't seen a hardlock since my last post. This comment on Google's help section confirms this as a possibility:

This thread also reports the problem for someone using a Thinkpad T61p:

That person claims the hardlocks also occur with Chromium, but I haven't experienced them yet.

Please if someone with hardlocks using Chrome could switch to Chromium to see if this fixes the issue for you as well.
