Have a similar problem on t480 on kernel 6.0.2-arch1-1. The trackpoint works at first, then the input starts to get "mushy", then (after about 3 minutes of constant use) trackpoint freaks out (cursor teleports across the screen, random rmb/lmb/mmb presses). Disabling/Enabling both trackpad/trackpoint in bios has no effect on xinput cli output.
Trackpoint is recognised as "PS/2 Generic Mouse".
