I resolve the issue on my machine thanks to this article: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/2009/08/04/howto-fix-linux-hangfreeze-during-reboots-and-restarts/

All I had to do was to had 'reboot=pci' to the kernel parameter at boot time.
For a permanent change on grub2, edit /etc/default/grub, and add 'reboot=pci' to the 'GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX'
