That is true, the PC does not completely freeze. The arrow of the mouse moves well, but the mouse clicks are not registered.

The keyboard doesn't work either (apart from the key combinations to open consoles like CTRL + Alt + F1).

Also chat programs like XChat keep registering conversations in the background.

The problem is that you cannot access all those things... Unless you open a console and write:

"sudo pkill X"

Which kills all opened programs and unsaved documents.
