Unfortunately adding this file (or putting the Option in my xorg.conf) didn't change anything.
I've also noticed that X is no longer updating my Xorg.0.log, so I can't tell if the version I posted helps. I did see that it contains a segfault at 0x4 though. And it used to recognize my monitor/read the EDID.
How do you restart X from a command line without rebooting?
