I can confirm this bug. it broke my x-server after the reboot (I'm using the fglrx driver from the ubuntu repos)
even deleting the xorg.conf didn't bring the x-server back up. reinstalling the linux-headers-generic package and dependancies fixed this for me.

It shouldn't have been uninstalled on the upgrade, though, or at least automatically reinstalled afterwards.
