I have a program that I wrote that controls an Onkyo audio receiver through it's serial port. The serial port is opened like this: open("/dev/ttyUSB0", O_RDWR | O_NOCTTY);
open never returns. This worked fine in Ubuntu prior to 10.10.
This problem was also discussed in the maverick testing forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1580150
A workaround was reported that I have verified works for me as well. modprobe -r pl2303 modprobe pl2303
