Comment 0 for bug 656568

When going to suspend the laptop turns down HDD, LED's, starts blinking "suspend" led as it should. However it did not wake up from suspend. When waking up hdd LED flashes for a moment, power LED turns on, fan starts up, but the screen is still blank. I've tried CTRL-ALT-DEL, CTRL-ALT-F2 to get to console but to no avail.
I'am running release candidate of Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. I've tried to install proprietary driver for ati videocard, turning visual effects on/off, unplugging USB perephery, disabling WIFI with zero success.
Aside from suspend hibernate also does not work as intended, upon hibernation screen darkens, suspend LED starts blinking, but screen backlight and fan continue to work.
I think it could be the same bug as #637712 .
