I wasn't able to boot on ami-d258acbb on m2.4xlarge. It seemed to come up without the special kernel options:
[ 0.000000] Linux version 2.6.35-22-virtual (buildd@allspice) (gcc version 4.4.5 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.4.4-14ubuntu4) ) #33-Ubuntu SMP Sun Sep 19 21:05:42 UTC 2010 (Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.33-virtual 2.6.35.4) [ 0.000000] Command line: root=LABEL=uec-rootfs ro console=hvc0
And then hung in intel_idle as expected. Also, confirmed apparent 32GB memory limit on this kernel + machine type.
