Sebastian's bug -- orthogonal to the one in this bug report since his hardware uses both a different dsp and a different codec -- at least from the driver side is fixed in alsa-driver 1.0.13. The patches were sent to kernel-team@ in early October.
I suspect Dino's issue, which may also affect Sebastian, lies in post-session-restore for whatever desktop environment is being used.
What desktop environment(s) is(are) being used? There was formerly an issue with 6.06 where Xfce's mixer did interesting things.
