Hello,

I can't get more than 1024x768 with xforcevesa and i915.modeset=0 on a Lenovo U160. If I boot into single mode, then do a rmmod i915; modprobe i915 modeset=1, the screen goes black while the LED backlight is still lit. The happens with all kernels, I tried, e.g. Ubuntu 10.4, 10.10, latest Fedora, and vanilla 2.6.36-RC1.

I have attached the vbios dump *before* the modules insertion. The dmesg and the intel_reg_dump output were recorded *after* inserting i915.

Is there anything I can test?
