Could you please try the following terminal commands:

echo 0x1d 0x411111f0 > /sys/class/sound/hwC0D0/user_pin_configs
echo 1 > /sys/class/sound/hwC0D0/reconfig

Then log out and in again and see if auto-mute is then enabled? Thanks!
