Beside the blacklist, I downloaded the RT2870STA driver from RTLINK and just recompiled it.Then I reinstalled it. Everything works, but I had to make a copy of the rt2870sta.ko to the lib folder for each Ubuntu Lucid (10.04) upgrade I made otherwise the problem came back.
