Comment 187 for bug 568611

I've noticed a bug with the 2.6.38 patched kernel:
when the backlight is powered off by a power managemente agent, it can't be lightened on again!
Also with:

$ xset dpms force off

turns the screen off but it cannot be lightened back! The computer still perfectly working, but no screen!

With vanilla the problem doesn't present itself.
