Hi,

I tried the version 4 of the patch on my Dell E5410, but it didn't solve the problem. However the patch at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~manjo/lucid/lp578673/ got 99% of the way to a fix. The only issue was that my display resumed with the backlight off, so simply pressing the button combination on my keyboard to increase the backlight level did the trick.
