Starts with Kernel update to 32-16. Occurs with both the ubuntu guest additions and with the guest additions compiled from the Virtual Box 3.1.4 host package.
Note (related?) that xorg does not recognize the monitor with the guest additions from the host package, but does with the ubuntu supplied guest additions.
