Well, here is the output of uname -a:
Linux UbuntuDvlVM 2.6.32-18-generic #27-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 26 19:51:10 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

But when I boot this morning, I didn't had the crash and low graphics messages anymore (did something change?). Instead, I have following message:

"Could not apply the stored configuration for monitor"
Ubuntu boots and my virtual machine ends up with a resolution of 1024x653

My Xorg.0.log shows following messages:
(==) Log file: "/var/log/Xorg.0.log", Time: Mon Apr 5 09:34:35 2010

        Using a default monitor configuration.

        Entry deleted from font path.

So, I guess this is just a configuration issue. I think the crash problem is gone, but I don't really understand what made it disappear...
