Similar problem on Dell Latitude E6500.

/var/log/messages message is: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready

Did not happen in Jaunty - only since upgrading to Karmic, and then only recently (last week or so). Recent kernel update?
