Furthermore, the media hotkeys do not work, similar problems to #199888.

The file /etc/modprobe.d/toshiba_acpi.modprob does not exist, nor does /proc/acpi/toshiba.

hildur@hildur-laptop:~$ sudo modprobe toshiba-acpi
FATAL: Error inserting toshiba_acpi (/lib/modules/2.6.31-17-generic/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/toshiba_acpi.ko): No such device
hildur@hildur-laptop:~$

It might be a possibility that the kernel fails to recognise it as a Toshiba Satellite M70 and thinks it is some other Toshiba model instead?
