Ubuntu devs are usually so responsive I'm surprised a bug causing so many problems to so many people sat idle for so long.
Linux EEE-UNR 2.6.31-22-generic #67-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 19:10:07 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
Ubuntu 9.04 on Asus EEE 4G Surf (root on 4GB SSD, /home on 8GB SD card)
apt-get dist-upgrade fails for lack of disk space and is a work-around rather than a solution.
pboake@EEE-UNR:~$ sudo ps -elf | grep poll_s| wc -l returns 92 pboake@EEE-UNR:~$ sudo ps -elf | grep futex_| wc -l returns 9 pboake@EEE-UNR:~$ sudo ps -elf | wc -l returns 172
discussion in #Ubuntu ran to comments about 9.04 receiving updates intended for other versions
I have an identical machine also running Ubuntu and will check for the same issue.
