I'd like to call into HP service tomorrow before making any other modifications. Altering DSDTs or flashing with modified BIOSs are not what I want to do for the number of machines I was looking to purchase, so I'd rather put heat on HP to fix the issue.

And asked any others who might be affected to make sure they let HP know. I think this is probably the better solution, at least for me...
