I don't have that laptop anymore but I found a fix a year ago in the ubuntu forum archives that worked.
Can't find it right now but I had to do someting like this:
blacklist intel agp in modprobe.conf use "nv" as default driver in xorg
maybe someting else was involved but I hope this comment will help.
