While these messages are about ACPI they are actually from the kernel.

Same error here. I have an Acer Aspire Revo (ION Platform) on
Linux ionbook 2.6.31-13-generic #45-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 13 02:07:24 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux.
Same error on Packard Bell Imax Mini C1600 (which is a Acer Revo copy, on Nvidia ION with Intel Atom too).
I installed Karmic Koala server release i686, and it totally bugged. Althought install went good, I could not use console after, because what I typed was not considered instantly, and console display was freezing.
I then installed Karmic Koala server release amd64 (as processor is a Intel Atom 230, with EM64T), and it worked much better, but I have same message complaining about "ACPI: I/O resource nForce2_smbus [...] conflicts with ACPI region SM00 [...]" then "nForce2_smbus 0000:00:01.1: Error probing SMB2"

Same errors on Point of View 330-1 (Atom 330 Nvidia ION).
Just tried 2.6.32rc6 same problem.
Same problem on a ZOTAC ION ITX-B-E (Intel Atom N230)

Has anyone tried setting "acpi_enforce_
according to https:/

I'm marking this bug as a duplicate of bug #440470 since the error message is virtually the same(SMB1 vs SMB2 is the only difference).
Please follow the conversation in the other bug report instead.\
Duduke, thanks for bringing that bug to my attention.

Could those seeing the message please add a comment to bug #440470 with the conflict message and the output of "sudo dmidecode" attached? I'd like to see which resources are affected on the various systems. Thanks.

this bug might be causing trouble with Puppy 5.4.x since it now uses the nouveau driver..
I have a K8N with an Athlon 64 and nv34 vid card
More information about my system attached in the form of dmidecode output. My motherbord is an Asus M3N78-EH with a Geforce 8200 chipset. It has no VGA/DVI-out because it's meant to be used with Hybrid SLI, which I can't use because my graphic card is an Nvidia Geforce 9600GT.
