Comment 55 for bug 435352

Did someone tried to compile a kernel under karmic especially for the U100 MSI? In that case the newest kernel from kernel.org eliminate the probs. For that my knowledge is not advanced enough compiling a so called vanilla kernel for myself.

From the official ubuntu is said, that they warn all MSI U100 Users to use Karmic Koala - this means, that we have to wait the next release in 2010.

In my case, i'm working with karmic by blacklisting uvcvideo and using a alternative webcam. The other prob getting the flickr away ist to start a menu with a right click for seconds, so i can controll the flickr. I don't have the flickr any more by using an external flat monitor.

In the sum the disadvantages in my case are less than the advantages in using this new piece of software for e.g. bluetooth, sound and beamer.
