It seems to happen when the computer is idle and then the driver becomes corrupt and won't reload.
I've done the following about 7 times... it's a temporary fix at best but does get you working ... until at least the computer goes idle.
1 - Add the Install CD to the software sources
2 - In Synaptic, locate the broadcomm sta package and mark for reinstall
3 - Reboot, go to Administration/Hardware drivers and hopefully now the wirelles driver is working.
4 - rinse and repeat
Could the issue be connected to the screen going dim when idle and not re-brightening bug?
