I've got a Acer Extensa 7630G
07:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5100
09:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5764M Gigabit Ethernet PCIe (rev 10)

I upgraded from Jaunty to Karmic yesterday. Same problem here. (64bit)
Same problem on a LiveCD (same kernel).

Also tried http://people.canonical.com/~apw/lp386468-karmic/ and it's working much better!
