@Marco -- thanks for the pointer.

So the fix is not in linus' tree yet, but looks to be well on the way. I have applied the same fix to current karmic kernel and built test kernels. If those afffected could test the kernels at the URL below and report back here that would be great. Kernels are at the following URL:
