Thanks for the update Andy.

I tried the 64 bit kernel from http://people.canonical.com/~apw/lp418933-karmic/ and it works fine on my Acer Aspire 6930G. Wired / wireless both functional.

Hope this fix becomes mainstream in next kernel update from Karmic
