Hi,

Please, can you tell us whether this is still an issue with 2.6.31-17 kernel?

If so, please can you try 2.6.32 kernel, located on http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.32/
Thanks in advance.

The resume still fails in karmic with the latest kernel, 2.6.31-18. The symptoms are slightly different, in that the log contains success messages for all hooks except "99video resume", which has the message "Exit error code 1". However, the display fails to resume, and the keyboard and trackpad have no effect - I have to power-off and restart by hand.

Using kernel 2.6.31-17, the display does recover, but the desktop background is garbled, with apparently random speckles all over; interestingly the icons appear to be unaffected. However, the resume log contains the same message as above!

I have been using lucid, and find that the 2.6.32-10 kernel allows successful resume, with a clear desktop background (no speckles) and no error messages in the log.

PS Resume from Hibernate, on the other hand, does not work at all in lucid.....the log shows all the hibernate hooks completing successfully, but the boot process apparently does not pick up the presence of a hibernate image, and does a normal boot.
