Where's the changelog, was there even any related change in that kernel update?
I've switched to 2.6.32-rc3 built directly from kernel.org source. The ath9k driver appears to work a lot better there, but the kernel crashes on me. I'm guessing the crashes are related to the ATI r600 KMS support though. It may be worth trying the current compat-wireless again on 2.6.31.
