After 9.04 - 9.10 (wubi) upgrade I get the following after a suspend & restart:

All X11 graphics is garbled but I can identify screen objects (9.04 worked fine).

I have an Intel based graphics chip, on a fairly old HP laptop.

glxinfo | fgrep render
direct rendering: Yes
OpenGL renderer string: Software Rasterizer

I discovered that I can workaround the problem by switching to a console view and back: alt-ctrl+F1 followed by alt-ctrl+F7.
