Binary package hint: pulseaudio

I can't tell if this is a duplicate or not, but yesterday running an up to date Jaunty everything was fine, today there is no sound. I tried unmuting things with alsamixer and the gnome mixer, stopping and starting pulseaudio, removing ~/.pulse but nothing worked. :( I'm not sure where to go from here as I don't know the sound stack very well.
