Bug Description

I have a Verizon (Qualcomm) PC5750 PCMCIA PCcard CDMA modem that I use for remote connections on my laptop. This card works fine booted into windows, and it worked fine in 7.04 until 8.10. 9.04 broke it, it no longer is visible to the OS. Inserting the card gets this result in /var/log/messages

here are additional files. BTW the upgrade was actually a fresh install from 8.04 upgraded to 8.10, we backed everything up, and installed on a new disk.

I found PCMCIA generally did not work after that. I changed my wireless
access to the USB version.

Something broke PCMCIA hard between JJ and HH.

Hi Joe,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 397242

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
