http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13887 You can check upstream bug files in kernel bugzilla, one user has reported updating with latest bios makes problem go away for some model of acer notebook. It didn't worked for me for model acer aspire 4736z. If anyone can confirm that would be great. You can find latest acer bios at http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/
