The bug still exists in karmic.

But it seems to be somehow hardware-related, since it happens only on my notebook, but not on my other computers (the interesting thing is, that the file transfer is only slow when using FAT32 with my notebook).

My notebook has the following USB controller:

A PC, which has no problems at all, has the following controller:

So perhaps, this problem is controller-related...
