Yes, the swapping goes away completely after converting to the open source driver.

Unfortunately the open source driver leaves artifacts in tons of places (the mouse, the Firefox buttons, and so on). Hopefully either the closed source driver will avoid the swapping in Karma, or the open source driver will fix the artifacts!
