on gigabyte 1405 all i had to do is to update GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grup like this:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.nomux i8042.noloop"
and run:
$ sudo update-grub
$ sudo reboot
