I am very sorry to say that this bug has recently cropped up with Karmic and KMS as well. If I suspend with lid, after resume resolutions are totally wrong and sometimes the displays are garbled. If I use suspend from the shutdown menu, all goes well.

I suspect this is the same bug, because it's strongly dependant on using the lid.
