I've been experiencing the same issue intermittently on a Lenovo ThinkPad R500, and the frequency seems to have increased to approximately once a day since upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04. Stopping and starting the network-manager service (service network-manager stop && sleep && service network-manager start) seems to fix the problem. Relevant lspci output is below, and dmesg output attached.
