I can confirm on my HP NC6400 the error remains on 9.04.

After manual reloading the module iwl3945 several times (hardware scan is already disabled by display_hw_scan=1), the connections is no more disconnecting frequently. But this step has to be repeated on each restart otherwise the wireless disconnects frequently.
